-Groceries-
Meg wants to know what's on my grocery list and if there's anything unusual on it. Well, seeing how we just did the grocery shopping two days ago, my list is pretty empty. I can, however, say that there are a few things that I wanted, but didn't get. So here are my list of things I wish were on my list!
- Peaches and Cottage Cheese (I'm the only one who likes it, so we rarely get it since I've let the cheese go bad a few times)
- Pork Chops (no reason, I just realized we didn't get any and dh likes them)
- Contact paper (we just moved in and haven't gotten our stuff yet. I know I have about 4 rolls of the stuff, but I'm itching to get going so when our goods arrive I can just unpack... but I'll save the money and wait)
- Cheerio's (My baby girl just turned 9 months yesterday (yay!) and I was thinking now would be a good time to introduce them, if for no other reason than to give her something to play with instead of always trying to take her brothers food!)
- Mop and broom (I just have this crazy feeling that dh didn't pack them)
- Nutmeg (my kids love french toast and I always put it in, but... again... I know I have some coming!)
- Fruit (something else that I love but no one else will eat unless forced.)
- 2 Sippy cups (a bigger one for my 2 yr old, and a small one for the baby so she can hopefully stop taking his!)
I think that's about it!

I'll probably post another freebie later on this evening, so check back! And if you haven't seen them before, check out the ones I've already posted and try out the tutorials!
Have a great day!!

-Frickum-Frackum-Ric-rac!-
Sounds like something Fred Flintstone would say in anger, huh! I wonder who came up with the term ric rac, anyway??
Well, I found this great tutorial by Laurie Garza on how to make ric rac. It's actually a video that she offers for FREE! It was so much easier to not just be able to follow along, but to also be able to PAUSE it while I do it with her! I'm definitely going to look for others by her.
So, here's my final product!

I made this in Photoshop Elements 4.o
The Tutorial can be found

-Something New!-
I've been wanting to do more with this blog besides answer those thought provoking prompts
Meg provides us with daily. So I've decided to use this to journal my education, as well. Let's face it, my brain goes 10 miles a second and I don't always take the time to sit still long enough to not only think about the prompt, but write it out as well. But I will continue to try... at least once a week for now, since it's so important to my journaling skills.
So, about my education. I've been wanting to learn how to make elements for quite some time now. My reasoning is that while I love to create layouts, I don't have as much imagination as I think I should have to make the jaw-dropping ones. I'm more of a technical kinda gal. This doesn't mean I wont be doing layouts anymore, on the contrary, I'm about to start working on 2 books in the next few weeks! Anyway, I've been doing a bunch of tutorials for months now and I think I'm to the point where I'm ready to share a few. Unfortunately, when my laptop died, most of my work died with it, so I'm kind of starting over, I guess.
So what I'll be posting is the element that I've created and information on how I did it (usually a link to the tutorial). I want to work up to doing one a day. I know it's possible, I just have to figure out how! lol

Ok, without further mumbo-jumbo, I present to you my first element for public use!!

I used Photoshop Elements 4.0 to create this rich-looking curtain. You can find the tutorial
here.If you decide to do it yourself, let me know, I'd love to see how yours came out!

Enjoy!

-Thoughts on a Stranded Island-
You are going to live on this absolutely amazing island with stunning surroundings, a white beach, magnificent trees, waterfalls, no poisonous insect on it (hahaha, so no spiders or ugly thingies)...it's a real paradise this island. Rich in food and water as well, so no worries on that front either.
You are allowed to bring only three items from your home (something you already have).
Now: what would they be and what would you do with them and what do you imagine you might create????
Very interesting prompt!
Well, I'm going to assume that my family members have all been given this same question and have their own 3 things to bring, therefore I know they'll already be there.
So, my first item would be the bag containing my laptop and it's accessories. My laptop is my lifeline. There aren't many things I can't do with it.
My second item would be my camera. How can anyone be surrounded by such beauty without a camera?? This way, I can scrap all the pictures on my laptop and send them to the sad people who aren't with me!
My third item would be my cell phone. Same reasons, I guess. Lifeline, camera... yadda yadda yadda!

I've been working on the latest NKOTB challenge. Please stop by and check out my layouts. I'd love your thoughts and opinions!

-It's been forever!-
Well, it seems like it's been forever since I've posted lol! I'm still without my laptop, but dh has been kind enough to share until mine is fixed.
Ok, so a little update: We've successfully arrived in Arkansas where my husband has been working his butt off at his new job. Unfortunately our household goods have yet to arrive, so we're living in a company provided hotel until then. We've been here about 3 weeks now and will probably be here another 2 weeks. We do have a house, but it's just more comfortable for us to stay here with furniture (and a pool!) than in an empty house. Right now it's just me and the 2 yr old and 8 month old. My oldest son is hanging out in Dallas with his cousins, but he'll be here next week.
I finally finished my grandmothers book for her 80th birthday! I'm still not sure if we'll be able to attend or not, there are too many last minute things going on, like the arrival of our stuff around that time.
Ok, so on to the prompt!
1. "Awww Boopity-Boo!" (I use this when most people would just say awww at something cute!)
2. "That's just crazy!" (I say this all the time)
3. "Wow!"
4. "Cool!" (I didn't realize I said these two a lot until my 2 year old started saying it, too!)
5. "You know" (I've been trying to stop saying this since high school!)
6. "Dagg-on!" (usually in place of dang or other expletives)
7. "Dag-nab-it!" (see #6)
8. "Dang-it!" (like when I've stubbed my toe)
That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there are many more.
Have a great day!

-Quick Update-
Well, it's official, I can't get my stuff off the hard drive.
The good news is that I can finally send it in to be repaired and pray that they'll be able to save it.
Hope you're all having a great summer!

-Just when the gettin starts gettin good...-
My husband accidently dropped my laptop!!
It's broken inside, so I have to send it back to be fixed.
The bad thing is that I may lose everything... EVERYTHING on my hard drive, including all of my cool scrappy tools, kits, and tutorials.
The good thing is that it can be fixed.
What a way to start off the summer!
