-The Art in Creating Beautiful Art-

Is creating "beautiful art" more important than the process of creating?

What a great thought provoking question!

I think it depends on the artist. Sometimes the process is more fun than the finished product. The more fun, the more creativity.

On the other hand, if the process isn't as fun, but more intense, the finished product can be more meaningful because of the hard work it involved.

Then again, if the process is very repetitive and mundane, then the finished product is definitely more important.

I apologize if I've confused you with this, but I've confused myself! I'm still a little discombobulated from my rude awakening this morning lol!

Keep reading for more details...

-What a way to start the day!-

My first thoughts when I got up this morning...

"Oh no... sigh..."

A little history: Due to my husbands job situation, we're staying with my mother for a few weeks. Yesterday was my 11 year old son's last day of school so I told him he needed to sleep in and not even come out of his room until after Grandma left for work so that she could have her house to herself in the morning like she likes. His room is equipped with a TV, VCR, mini fridge and a microwave, so he really didn't need to come out except to go to the bathroom. (yes his grandmother spoils him rotten!)

This morning I woke up to the house alarm going off! My son decided he wanted to get up and get his chores out of the way so he could play video games all day, so the alarm going off was him taking out the trash... at 7:30 am. (I have the best kid in the world!)

I have to admit, though, I wonder about him sometimes. I can let him stay up as late as he wants (last night it was 10, but usually much later) and he'll still get up at the crack of dawn! My husband and I are not morning people at all, but somehow we raised one...

How did THAT happen??

-Scent of a Pop-

Today's prompt: Blog about a scent that reminds you of childhood, or just one with strong emotional connection.

I didn't have to think long about this. It's the scent of a pipe.

My grandfather smoked a pipe for many years. I don't know what "flavor" or brand of tobacco he used, but it always smelled good to me.

He loved to tell the story about how whenever he came home from work and I was in my playpen, I would always jump up and down yelling, "Pop Pop! Pop Pop! Pop Pop!" And he would come pick me up and toss me in the air. I don't really remember all of that, but I love the way he remembered it.

He stopped smoking a pipe many years ago, when I was a teenager. I knew it was important that he quit, so I never told him how much I missed it.

My grandfather would have been 82 this past Thursday. I miss him tremendously.

-My Field Trip-

My Field Trip
By Monica

If I could go anywhere for a field trip, I would go to the moon. The moon seems like a nice peaceful place. No one bugs you and there are no bugs! I might be a little cold, but I'll just bring a sweater. My mom would tell me to bring a hat too, but I don't want to mess up my hair. I wonder why it's so cold on the moon. Isn't the sun up there, too? Or are they on two different sides of the universe, like America and Australia? Australia seems like a cool place to visit. They talk different and call each other mate. Is that because they all mate with each other? If so, then why don't they have more people like China? I met a lady yesterday at school that went to high school in China. She said China is a very exotic place. Does that mean they have exotic dancers on every corner? Maybe that's why they have so many people there. At least they have good food! My favorite food is pasta, like they make in Italy. I like all different kinds of pasta. One day my mom was in Italy and she said some guy made her go into his restaurant and try his speghetti and she loved it! She didn't bring me any, though. That made me sad so I drew a picture of her in a rocketship on her way to the moon for a time-out. It was a fun picture, so I want to go now, too!

And that's where I'd go for a field trip.

-aaaaand we're back!-

Thanks for your well wishes for our move. It went smoother than I thought on my part. My husband, on the other hand, is still in VA packing up and cleaning out our house... by himself. He'll be here on Thursday, YAY!

I'm currently on dial-up so I can only get online once, maaaaybe twice a day. So I'm going to be a day behind on the prompts for a bit.

I found this one ironic as all get out!

Right now you should be doing ______ instead of being on the computer.

SLEEPING!!

My little ones have not adjusted to sleeping in the same room with Mommy yet and they keep waking each other up throughout the night. Coming from a ranch to a two-story house has done a JOB on my legs so leaving the room with one isn't much of an option unless I want to risk falling down the stairs carrying one lol!

Anyway, yes, I'm exhausted, but for some reason my fingers just keep typing and clicking as if my clock says 1:41 PM instead of AM.

Even on dial-up I still manage to hang out online all night! If only dh were here...
